Acid Jazz, it is the new music and is being well received in Europe as well as in the USA: A new and exciting form of music that melds together the traditional sounds of Jazz with the trend setting rhythms of hip-hop. The late, great Miles Davis had been experimenting with rap songs, which indicates the he recognized that hip hop was the direction of the future for both rap and jazz worlds. Max Roach felt that the next Charlie Parker would come from the rap/hip hop community. Artists, such as: Donald Byrd, Roy Ayers, Miles Davis, the Roots, Jill Scott, Sade', Branford Marsalis, to name just a few, have collaborated with hip-hop artists. This music has created a bevy of young talented musicians/recording artists without real platforms to be heard by their fans. As with all other music forms today, video formatted shows not only provide national and international recognition but they create major increase in sales. The Just Coolin' Project fills the void that has been created by this growing music trend. Just Coolin' is a video program featuring Jazz, Be bop, Hip Hop, and Acid. The 60 minute program will feature videos, live performances, candid interviews, and historical videos and clips of jazz greats that paved the road for the young lions on today's jazz scene.
